April 8 is a day observed by fans of the “Rex Manning Day,” a yearly celebration of the 1995 cult-classic film, Empire Records.

In Hawaii, we are running on our 3rd Annual event, we skipped a year because of the pandemic or it would have been our 4th one. This event will take place again at The Equus Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii with actor Coyote Shivers who played Berko in the film and accompanying him, Hollywood legend, author and professional dancer, Pleasant Gehman . There will be a screening of the film, live entertainment by Coyote Shivers (Berko) performing “Sugar High,” a taping and a singalong video for his new release “Lockdown Love” will be filmed. Come dress in 80s attire or whatever you like and bring a ukulele guitar if you have one and join in the making of the video and the fun.
